What we do

More ways to enjoy fly fishing.

HPD is more than a monthly meeting. Throughout the year, members fish, learn, travel, volunteer, and build friendships around healthy rivers and responsible angling.

Local outings and destination trips

Fish Colorado waters with knowledgeable members, or join overnight and destination trips—from relaxed local days to guided travel experiences.

Monthly programs and guest speakers

Meetings feature guides, authors, biologists, conservation leaders, and experienced anglers—bringing useful ideas, new destinations, and new fishing connections.

Fly tying, casting, and education

Build practical skills through fly tying, casting, entomology, equipment discussions, and informal member help. Beginners are always welcome.

Conservation and service

Support healthy waters through conservation education, river stewardship, community projects, and hands-on opportunities to give back.

Social events and lasting connections

Meet anglers at every experience level. Many fishing partners and lasting friendships begin at a meeting, outing, or fly-tying table.

Fly Fishers International resources

Connect with broader education, conservation, instructor programs, and member resources through our affiliation with Fly Fishers International.
