Colorado Classic Fly-Fishing Tournament Hosted by High Plains Drifters

I’ve been floating and fishing the Upper Colorado for over six years, and I guide from a 14-foot cataraft equipped with RMR tubes, an NRS fishing frame, and hard floors.

It’s a two-person setup with only one angler and one guide, which means I can keep you perfectly positioned for every cast. Unlike in a drift boat, where a second angler has to make a super long cast to reach the shore, this layout gives you the best possible shot at the water along the banks.

Fall on the Upper Colorado is prime time for streamer fishing—my favorite way to chase trout. Bring your 7- or 8-weight, and we’ll rig up double streamers to bang the banks in search of aggressive browns.

I’ll have lunch prepared and a cooler stocked with sparkling and still water, plus space for your favorite beverages (BYOB). All you need to bring is your rod, your flies, and your excitement to fish one of Colorado’s finest rivers.
