Upper Colorado Multi Day Trip 10/5 to 10/8

A new float trip has been added to the HDP calendar in 2023! The club has reserved the BLM group campsites at Radium from 10/5 to 10/8 for members to campout, swap fish stories and get to know each other better.

During the day, members will be float fishing the upper section of the Colorado river between Pumphouse and Radium targeting wild rainbows, brown and cutthroat trout. Due in large part to its’ accessibility, this is a popular float boat put-in destination popular among rafters, kayakers, tubers and the fly-fishing community alike.

In order to meet the needs of all our members, HDP is currently soliciting interest among members who have boats and would like to help guide other members interested in going on the trip.

If your interested in bringing a boat please email admin@flyfisherscolorado.com and we will put you on the list.

If your not up to float we will be wade fishing this area. The upper Colorado has excellent wade fishing opportunities. As we get closer to the trip more information will be provided as to locations and flies that are working.

CAMPING

Our reserved group campsites will offer free camping to all HDP members who have pre-registered for the trip but a $5 per vehicle/day is required for parking around the facilities. This trip will provide a great opportunity to float fish a pristine section of the Colorado River - covering lots a river-miles over the course of three days and hopefully landing lots of nice fish!
